Experiences

SET Education is based in purpose designed premises in North Camp. With multiple offices for 1:1 Teaching, as well as a common room for social time and specialist rooms for vocational studies such as cooking, beauty and sewing.

Tutors and Mentors seek out opportunities for experiences within the community which build a range of skills, confidence and risk analysis. As part of this we take pupils out on visits to shops, cafes, sports facilities, museums, green spaces and areas of interest.

The setting aims to be Communication and Autism friendly, with extensive use of visuals and resources to reduce stress and facilitate engagement in a calm and safe learning environment.

Learning Anywhere

We believe that experiences are just as important as formal lessons. Travel training, trips to places of interest, local shop visits and sessions in green spaces are regular here at SET Education.

Tailored to Each Individual

Individual learning programs are designed in discussion with the pupil, parents and their teachers. Focus can be on developing key skills, filling gaps in knowledge, building experience sand schemas, or continuing with their particular key stage or GCSE study in line with their peers at mainstream.

At SET Education, we aim to follow the National Curriculum for England in KS2 and KS3. Aiming to fill gaps in skills and learning and get our pupils on their way to achieving their age related expectations.

In KS4 we follow a range of curriculum, which have are specifically chosen to mirror the pupils’ secondary school. We aim to get them fully prepared for their GCSE examinations or POST-16 ready. We assist with college applications, transitions and work experience where we can.

Home learning tasks will be provided to consolidate the learning completed on site, develop independence and provide additional structure to a pupils day when not in school.

SET Education is not currently an Exam Centre but can facilitate exam sessions on site, in collaboration with pupils schools, during the Exam Period if necessary.

SET have tutored my grandson for the last few years and now work with my other grandson. They are truly gifted teachers with the ability to make difficult concepts understandable, so that students can progress and achieve their full potential. SET has made a great difference to my grandsons and we are very grateful.
